Not Your Average Diver

recreational training: padi rescue diver course

The aim of the course is to train a diver to be able to confidently and competently render assistance to another diver or divers.

The Rescue Diver is both a challenging and enjoyable programme that introduces a variety of rescue skills and techniques. It is a prerequisite for the PADI Divemaster qualification which is the first step on the PADI professional ladder.

The course is normally run over 3 to 4 days and comprises 11 sessions which contain both a practical and theoretical element. These sessions cover, amongst others, subjects such as first aid, oxygen first aid, recovery techniques (from the shore, surface and underwater) and rescue management. At the conclusion of the course there is short exam.

The programme is conducted in both a confined and open water environment. To learn the skills required to be a competent Rescue Diver in a swimming pool environment is not sufficient.

The academic and water parts of the course can normally be completed in 3 to 4 days.

The course costs £400.00 and includes the following:

All necessary teaching equipment and materials
Course registration
Rescue Diver Manual
Qualification card
Qualification wall certificate

Please note that the student is expected to have their own basic SCUBA equipment and meet any air and site entry fees. Equipment and air can be provided if required, at a small further cost. Please ask for details.

If you wish to enrol, a deposit of £75.00 is required with cheques made payable to Joe Diver Limited and the balance due upon commencement of the course.
